The Kawaguchi Festival Grand Fireworks Display colors the summer of the Chuetsu region. About 3,000 fireworks shells are launched into the night sky from the open riverbank where the Uono River and Shinano River meet. Because the venue is surrounded by mountains, the powerful sound of the fireworks echoing is also part of the appeal. The riverbank scenery you saw during the day takes on a completely different look at night with the fireworks.
