About this spot

Niigata's largest entertainment district spreading from the east end of Bandai Bridge, where shopping malls, restaurants, convenience stores, and supermarkets cluster together in a convenient area. It's ideal for procuring takeout dinners and drinks before the fireworks festival, and Niigata specialties such as sauce-topped breaded pork cutlet rice and bamboo dumplings are available at nearby shops. Since venue vendors become crowded from evening onward on festival day, it's wise to pick up supplies here with ample time. You can also use this time to find children's goods and souvenirs.

Tips

About a 5-minute walk from Bandai Bridge. On festival day, the area becomes increasingly crowded as evening approaches, so it's safer to complete shopping before 5 PM. The Shinano River embankment viewing area is about 15–20 minutes' walk from here. Coin lockers are available at the Bandai Citai Bus Center.

Best time to visit

Approximately 2 hours 30 minutes required. Pre-evening hours are ideal for shopping and dining preparations.
