A park built on the site of Motegi Castle constructed in the medieval period, and also tonight's fireworks venue. Located on an elevated plateau, you can overlook the cityscape characteristic of a castle town and the flow of the Naka River. Walking trails are maintained in the lush green park, allowing leisurely walks while feeling the history. Walking through the fireworks venue during the day helps you visualize meeting spots for the evening.

祇園祭とともに受け継がれてきた、茂木町の夏を代表する祭りの花火大会です。茂木城跡の城山公園を会場に、約5,000発の花火が夜空を彩ります。城下町らしい町並みを見渡す高台からの花火は、地域の歴史と夏祭りの熱気が重なる特別な光景です。荒天の場合は翌7月26日(日)に順延されるため、天候にあわせて予定を立てやすいのも安心なポイントです。

荒天時は7/26(日)に順延される場合があるため、当日の開催可否は茂木町の公式発表で確認しましょう。終了後は周辺道路が混み合うため、少し時間をずらして帰るのがおすすめです。足元が暗くなるので、小さな子ども連れは懐中電灯があると安心です。
Tips
As it is on an elevated plateau, there are some slopes and stairs. Wear comfortable walking shoes. In summer, the shade of the trees is pleasant and provides a good rest spot.
Best time to visit
Takes about 1 hour. The view from the plateau becomes even more beautiful toward evening
