This gorge spreads along the Omi River (麻績川) as it flows through Chikuhoku Village, with scenery shaped by sheer rock walls and clear water as its highlight. From the promenade, you can enjoy a cool walk surrounded by lush green trees while listening to the sound of the water. Even during the hot hours of summer, the area along the gorge stays relatively comfortable, making it perfect for a leisurely family walk. Time spent in this quiet, rural setting makes a fitting start to the trip.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from the center of Chikuhoku Village. The footing on the promenade can be uneven in places, so wear comfortable walking shoes. In summer, insect repellent spray is reassuring to have.
