This beach spreads out just below the Atagawa hot spring town, with a well-maintained promenade where you can enjoy a stroll while taking in the view of the Sagami Sea (相模灘). On clear days, you can even see the distant Izu Seven Islands (伊豆七島), and the open ocean view is soothing to the mind. Taking in the sea where tonight's fireworks will be launched during the daytime makes the evening viewing feel even more anticipated. There are also benches along the breakwater, perfect for taking a break while feeling the sea breeze.
Tips
About a 10-minute walk from the Atagawa Onsen hot spring town. Strolling here is free. Some parts of the breakwater and rocky areas can be slippery underfoot, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
