城崎温泉の夏を締めくくる花火大会です。柳並木の続く大谿川沿いの温泉街を舞台に、夜空へ花火が打ち上がります。5分ほどの短い時間ながら、木造旅館の灯りと提灯、そして花火の光が重なり合う城崎ならではの情緒ある景色が広がります。浴衣姿で外湯めぐりの合間に花火を楽しむ人も多く、温泉街全体が夏祭りのムードに包まれる特別な夜です。
Tips
荒天時は中止や延期の可能性があるため、当日は豊岡市や温泉街の公式発表を確認しましょう。観覧場所は大谿川沿いの各所に分散するため、早めに川沿いのお気に入りのスポットを確保しておくと安心です。終了後は温泉街が混み合うため、外湯めぐりを続けながらの時間差移動もおすすめです。
Tips
Accessible by foot from the cable car station, or just a short walk from the intermediate station. Admission is around 400 yen for adults. The temple grounds have stone steps, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
