About this spot

A park in Fukusaki Town, also known as the birthplace of folklorist Yanagita Kunio, where kappa statues inspired by the kappa legend transmitted in the town are placed here and there throughout the grounds. With ponds, small streams, and shaded benches, it's spacious enough for comfortable walks even in hot seasons. Simply exploring while searching for statues offers a bit of a treasure hunt feeling. A delightful spot for families to move around and play before the Ichikawa Festival.

市川町文化センターの芝生広場を会場に開かれる、地域に根づいた夏まつりの花火大会です。周囲を田園と山並みに囲まれた開放的な会場で、都市部の花火大会とはひと味違う静けさの中、夜空いっぱいに花火が広がります。芝生に腰を下ろしてゆったり見上げられるのも、この会場ならではの魅力です。18時から21時までの間、家族でのんびり夜空を楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天時は中止や延期の可能性があるため、当日は市川町の公式発表で開催可否を確認を。駐車場や周辺道路は終了後に混み合うため、時間差での帰宅がおすすめです。足元が暗いのでスマホのライトなど明かりを用意しておくと安心です。

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from the roadside station. Parking is available around the park. In summer, bring a hat and water due to strong sunlight. Since there are many statues, it's fun to take your time looking for all of them.
