The Yanagita Kunio / Matsuoka Family Memorial Hall (柳田國男 / 松岡家記念館) is a town museum right next to Tsujikawayama Park (辻川山公園). The house where Yanagita Kunio, who laid the foundations of Japanese folklore studies, spent his childhood has been relocated and preserved here, and seeing how small it is brings home the origins of his turn toward folklore. Inside, materials on the Matsuoka brothers are also displayed, showing how many scholars grew out of this small town. Coming here after the excitement of the yokai park connects the answer to why this town has yokai at all, turning the morning into a single story. Parts of it are difficult for children, but simply walking through the old house is interesting enough.

さるびあ公園じゃぶじゃぶ池は、神崎郡福崎町のさるびあ公園(福崎浄化センター修景施設)にある無料の水遊び場です。井戸水を使ったじゃぶじゃぶ池とせせらぎの川があり、真夏でもひんやりと冷たい水にふれられるのが大きな特徴です。公式には「毎年7月上旬オープン、9月下旬頃まで」と案内されており、時間は8:30から17:00まで。2026年の確定した日程はまだ公表されていないので、出かける前に町の案内で開設状況を確かめてください。園内にはふわふわドームと大型複合遊具、芝生広場もそろっているため、水に飽きたら遊具、体が冷えたら芝生と遊び方を切り替えながら長く過ごせます。無人で管理されているため、6歳以下の子どもは必ず保護者が付き添って利用してください。

Tips

料金は無料です。井戸水は冷たいので、唇の色が変わる前に上がらせて、タオルで拭いて休ませるくらいのつもりで見守りましょう。着替えの場所は限られるため、水着は服の下に着ていくと安心です。ぬれた服を入れるビニール袋を人数分持っていくと帰りが快適です。ふわふわドームは日ざしで表面が熱くなることがあるので、触って確かめてから遊ばせてください。

Tips

Check the town's information for opening days, hours and admission arrangements. You will walk on tatami and wooden floors, so shoes that slip on and off easily make things smoother. It is a place to visit quietly, so get a promise not to run before you go in. It is a short walk from Tsujikawayama Park (辻川山公園), so you can leave the car where it is.
