About this spot

This roadside station in Shimukappu Village sits along National Route 237, marked by a pocket park with a fountain featuring the maple, the village flower, and a giant nature-experience thermometer that's a popular photo spot. Inside, you'll find a woodcraft souvenir shop, a stall selling local specialties like wild mountain vegetables, and a snack corner, with the soft-serve ice cream also popular. At the start of your trip, take your time and soak in the village atmosphere.

Tips

Just a short drive from Shimukappu Interchange, and also close to Shimukappu Station. Parking is free. During summer vacation it can get crowded with tourists, so it's recommended to allow extra time.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. Early afternoon is relatively uncrowded for a leisurely visit
