About this spot

This clear stream, part of the headwaters of the Mukawa River flowing through Shimukappu Village, is a gorge lined with dramatic rock formations known as a climbing mecca, and rafting is also held on the Mukawa River. Enjoy the clear water and the quiet sound of the river, unique to Shimukappu Village, surrounded on all sides by mountains.

Tips

A few minutes' drive from the roadside station. Some footing can be slippery, so prepare shoes that can get wet if you plan to play in the water. In case of bad weather or rising water levels, don't push it — check the condition of the riverbed before approaching the water.
