Approximately 2,500 Fireworks Light Up Japan's Northernmost Harbor Sky
About this spot
Held on August 2, 2026 (Sunday) at the Northern Breakwater Dome area in Wakkanai, this grand fireworks show concludes the Wakkanai Minato and Antarctica Festival. Approximately 2,500 fireworks launch into the night sky facing the Soya Strait from 8:30 to 9:15 PM (45 minutes). The sight of fireworks intertwining with the Northern Breakwater Dome's distinctive arc is unique to this venue. Japan's northernmost harbor town offers a summer night sky finale with a distinctly cool, northern air unlike any other region.
