About this spot

This roadside station (michi-no-eki), beloved as the gateway to Taiki Town, is lined with locally grown agricultural and livestock products and local specialty food. True to a region known for dairy, soft-serve ice cream and other light snacks made with dairy products are popular here. There is also a rest area inside, perfect for taking a break during your trip. From the spacious parking lot, you can enjoy a relaxed, quintessentially Hokkaido moment while taking in the surrounding rural scenery.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from the Rekifune River (歴舟川) venue. It can get crowded during the summer tourist season, so it's recommended to stop by earlier in the morning. Local dairy products are sometimes available in limited quantities, so check anything you're interested in early.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour needed. Mornings are relatively uncrowded, letting you shop at a leisurely pace.
