Positioned at Japan's southernmost point on Honshu, this cape offers an open, unobstructed view of the vast Pacific Ocean. At the cape's tip stands the Shiomisaki Lighthouse, which has shone since the Meiji era. Climbing inside reveals a grand panoramic view of the surrounding coastline. There's also a spacious grass plaza, perfect for leisurely family walks. Taking a commemorative photo at the "Japan's Southernmost Point" stone monument is a unique experience at this location.

2026年8月1日(土)開催、東牟婁郡串本町の串本漁港堤防を会場に行われる、串本まつりのフィナーレを飾る花火大会です。約4,000発の花火が19時45分から21時までの間、熊野灘に面した夜空に次々と打ち上がります。漁港の堤防という開けた立地のため、花火が海面に映り込む美しい景色も楽しめるのが魅力です。潮風を感じながら見上げる大輪の花火は、海の町串本ならではの夏の締めくくりにふさわしい光景です。
