About this spot

This scenic spot, representative of Soka City, has a pine-lined path stretching about 1.5km along the Ayase River. It's also known as a path said to have been walked by Matsuo Basho during his Oku no Hosomichi journey, letting you stroll while sensing history. From Momoyo Bridge (百代橋), with its striking red railing, you can take in a sweeping view of the pine trees and the river, making it a popular spot for commemorative photos. The shaded promenade is relatively easy to walk even in midsummer, perfect for a family stroll.

Tips

Within walking distance from Soka Park. Sunlight is strong during the day, so bringing a hat or parasol is recommended. The area around Momoyo Bridge is a popular photo spot, so please be considerate of others when it's crowded.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour needed. Early afternoon, when the sunlight softens a bit, is easiest for walking
