About this spot

The station building of Ibara Station, the hub station of the Ibara Railway Ibara Line. Its design, shaped like a bow and arrow, is inspired by Nasu no Yoichi, a famed archer connected to Ibara. Inside the high-ceilinged, glass-walled building are the Ibara City Tourist Information Center, the Ibara Denim Store selling jeans and bags made with local Ibara denim, and shops and eateries offering local products. It's a great spot to enjoy looking for souvenirs in the early evening, and since the station plaza and the street in front of it are also the venue for the Ibara Matsuri☆Manten festival, you can feel the festival's lively atmosphere up close.

Tips

Travel here by car from the Kodai Mahoroba-kan Museum. Shop hours vary by store, so it's reassuring to check before visiting.

About 1 hour 15 minutes needed. Evenings turn cooler, making it an easy time for strolling around town
