A tea field in Yamatono, Mimasaka City, run by Kaidaen Kurosaka Seicha. Known as the ‘tea fields in the sky,’ this sweeping view of green was used as the main visual for the film ‘Kaze no Kanade Kimi e,’ set in Mimasaka City — a truly spectacular sight. No reservation is needed to visit, and the greenery is said to be most vivid from Golden Week through mid-May, when new leaves sprout. Unlike an urban fireworks display, this area lets you spend a relaxed afternoon surrounded by nature — something unique to this spot. Enjoy a quiet time in the mountains while avoiding the summer sun.

Tips

Just under 10 minutes by car from in front of Mimasaka-Emi Station. Some areas around the tea fields have dirt or gravel underfoot, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Insects can appear in summer, so insect repellent is reassuring.
