About this spot

A park spread across a hilltop in the Sakuto district of Mimasaka City, whose main appeal is the panoramic view overlooking the surrounding mountains. It has an open grassy plaza and is also known for hosting a paragliding school on this scenic hill. Families can enjoy the grand scale of mountain scenery you can't experience in the city. Before the fireworks that close out the day, take in Sakuto's nature to the fullest from this hilltop view.

Tips

Travel here by car from the ‘tea fields in the sky’ at Kaidaen Kurosaka Seicha. There's little shelter from the sun on the hilltop, so bring a hat or sun protection. The ground is grass and gravel, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 30 minutes needed. As evening approaches, the sunlight softens and the mountain scenery becomes easier to see
