About this spot

This is the gateway to Okinoshima Town, where Oki Kisen (隠岐汽船) ferries connecting Dogo Island (島後) with Shichirui Port in Shimane Prefecture and Sakaiminato in Tottori Prefecture arrive and depart. The building, renovated in 2010, has a shop on the first floor stocked with Oki souvenirs such as processed seafood products, local sweets, and regional sake. Nakamachi Menuki, the venue for the fireworks festival, is right by this port, so picking up dinner in the evening lets you focus calmly on watching the fireworks at night.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from the Oki Nature Museum. Shops and parking in the area get crowded right before the fireworks, so acting early is recommended.
