This facility lets you learn about the unique ecosystem and geology of the Oki Islands, which are also certified as a UNESCO Global Geopark. It offers an easy-to-understand introduction to nature unique to Oki, including endemic plants and animals living on the islands and the formation of terrain shaped by volcanic activity. As an indoor facility, it's also a good place to take a break during the hot summer hours.
Tips
Drive back toward the town center from Saigo Cape Park. The exhibits are easy for children to understand too, and can offer ideas for school research projects. Opening hours may change by season, so check on the day.
