About this spot

This 227-meter mountain is located on Innoshima (Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture), across the water from Yuge Island. Near the summit, the stone statues of the Five Hundred Rakan stand in rows, creating a unique landscape. From the viewpoint, you can take in a sweeping view of the islands scattered across the Seto Inland Sea, and on clear days you can even see distant mountain ranges. It's a spot where you can savor the true pleasure of island-hopping travel unique to the Seto Inland Sea.

Tips

Since you'll cross the water by ferry from Yuge Island, check the ferry schedule in advance. Stairs and a slope continue up to the summit, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Don't forget to stay hydrated in summer.
