Nagaoka's representative comprehensive park featuring a small zoo, playground, and observation facilities overlooking a pond. Also known as a cherry blossom viewing spot, the lush green park offers plenty of shade even in summer for families to spend time comfortably. 2026年8月1日(土)、長岡まつり大花火大会の前夜に打ち上がる「白菊」です。1945年8月1日の長岡空襲で犠牲になった方々への慰霊と、平和への祈りを込めて、正三尺玉ではなく、たった3発だけが静かに打ち上げられます。派手さはありませんが、その分ひとつひとつの花火に込められた意味を感じられる、特別な時間です。翌日から始まる本祭りとは違う、鎮魂のための花火として長岡の人々に大切にされてきました。
Tips
荒天時は中止となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は主催の発表で確認を。夜遅い時間のため、小さなお子さま連れは防寒と体調管理に気を配りましょう。終了後は多くの人が一斉に移動するため、慌てず時間差での帰宅がおすすめです。
Tips
About 20 minutes by bus from the Nagaoka War-Damaged Materials Museum. The park has ups and downs, so if using a stroller, it's helpful to check the route in advance. The zoo requires a separate admission fee.
Best time to visit
About 2.5 hours required. The slightly cooler afternoon hours are more comfortable.
