On the evening of the fireworks festival, the food stalls and restaurants around the venue get very crowded. Getting a meal early in front of Ome Station lets you settle into the evening viewing with less rush. After eating, head back to Nagayama Park, lay out a picnic sheet, and secure a good spot for viewing. The view of the Tama River at dusk, looking down from the hilltop, is also a highlight unique to this time of day.
Tips
On the day of the fireworks festival, the roads around the station and to the park get very congested, so allow plenty of time to get around. If you want a good spot, arriving early is recommended.
