Held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the venue around Ogoto Onsen Port in Otsu City, this fireworks festival has become a summer tradition on the shore of Lake Biwa. Around 1,200 fireworks launch one after another into the night sky over the lake during the 30 minutes from 8:00 to 8:30 pm. The way the fireworks' light reflects on the calm surface of the lake is a beautiful sight unique to this lakeside hot spring resort. Enjoying the brisk pace of the fireworks alongside the bustle of the hot spring town, these 30 minutes are a fitting close to summer in Otsu.
