About this spot

This park in the Ogoto area of Otsu City is centered on a foot bath drawing water directly from the Ogoto Onsen hot spring source. In addition to a large foot bath that can hold 22 people at once, there's a tourist information and local products center as well as a foot-bath cafe, and you can take in the whole of Lake Biwa from the grassy plaza and benches. It's a perfect spot to rest your feet in the hot spring water after a day of walking while gazing at the lake, gradually easing into the hot spring town's atmosphere as evening draws near and the fireworks festival approaches.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from Karasaki Shrine. On the day of the fireworks festival, the area around the hot spring town gets very crowded, so arriving early is recommended.

About 3 hours. It's especially crowded around sunset, so plan to act early
