About this spot

This shopping street spreads through the center of Nankan Town, and during the Nankan Summer Festival Gion-san (なんかん夏まつり ぎおんさん), it bustles with festival lanterns and food stalls. It's a perfect spot for dinner, letting you spend time sensing the atmosphere of a post town that has continued since the Edo period. Watching the shopping street's mood gradually shift from evening into night is also a pleasure unique to this town.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Otsuyama Nature Park. During the festival, the street may become pedestrian-only, so if driving, it is reassuring to check parking locations in advance. Having dinner a bit early will give you more breathing room.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 30 minutes. The shopping street at dusk has the charm typical of a post town.
