This beautiful beach, representative of Wakasa Bay (若狭湾), has been selected as one of 'Japan's Top 88 Swimming Beaches.' With a gently sloping shore and clear water, even small children can play safely, and the contrast between the white sand and blue sea creates a quintessential summer scene. Beach huts line the shore, equipped with facilities like changing rooms and showers, making it an ideal environment for family swimming. Since it's right next to tonight's fireworks venue, be sure to enjoy plenty of time in the water during the day.
Tips
About a 10-minute drive from Michi-no-Eki Seaside Takahama (道の駅シーサイド高浜). It gets especially crowded during summer vacation, so securing parking early is recommended. Don't forget your swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 30 minutes. Be sure to take heatstroke precautions around midday, when the sun is strongest
