An ancient temple famous for its beautiful three-story pagoda, designated as a National Treasure and said to date back to the late Kamakura period. The pagoda is so stunning that travelers are said to instinctively turn around to look back at it, earning it the nickname "the pagoda you can't help but turn around to see." The pagoda, which blends harmoniously with the surrounding mountains, attracts numerous visitors and photography enthusiasts throughout all seasons. As you walk through the quiet temple grounds, you can feel the weight of history that lives in Shinshu's mountain villages.

2026年8月1日(土)開催、青木村総合グラウンドを会場に行われる、信州青木村夏まつり・大花火大会です。16時30分から20時30分までの長い時間にわたって開催され、前半は出店や催しでにぎわう夏まつり、日が暮れると花火が夜空を彩ります。周囲を山に囲まれたグラウンドは視界を遮るものが少なく、家族でゆったりと祭りと花火を楽しめるのが魅力です。山あいの村ならではの、地域に根ざした温かい雰囲気の中で過ごす夏の夜になります。

Tips

荒天時は日程が変更・中止となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は青木村の公式発表で確認しましょう。夜は山あいで気温が下がることがあるので羽織ものを忘れずに。終了後は駐車場周辺が混み合うため、時間に余裕を持って移動を。

Tips

About 20 minutes by car from Ueda city center. Stone steps in the temple grounds, so comfortable shoes are recommended. In summer, there are many shaded areas, making it relatively comfortable.
