About this spot

The Sendai River (千代川), which flows through Tottori City, takes on the character of a clear mountain stream near Mochigase-cho, surrounded by hills. The open riverbank is a perfect spot to relax and cool off by the water. Spending an afternoon listening to the murmur of the river is a luxury unique to a mountain village. Take in the nature of Mochigase during the day before heading to the evening festival.

Tips

About a 10-minute walk from the old Mochigase post town. Some areas of the riverbank have unstable footing, so sneakers are recommended. Stay away from the water if it's running high, and check the day's weather as well.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. Late afternoon, when the sunlight softens, is a comfortable time to visit
