A bathhouse at Yunomoto Onsen (湯之元温泉), long loved by visitors for hot-spring therapy. Two baths still remain today: Motoyu (元湯), once run directly by the Shimazu domain (島津藩), and Uchikomiyu (打込湯), used by ordinary townspeople. The water is a simple sulfur spring. In 2020, the bathhouse was fully renovated, adding a lounge and a co-working space. This is an area for a relaxed stroll in a quiet, locally rooted atmosphere, distinct from busier tourist spots.
Tips
About 10 minutes by car from Eguchihama Coastal Park. Sunlight is strong in summer, so take breaks often.
Best time to visit
About 45 minutes. The afternoon, when the sunlight softens a little, is easier for strolling.
