About this spot

A communal bathhouse at the foot of Mt. Shibi (紫尾山), a sacred mountain of northern Satsuma. Called Kami-no-Yu ('God's Bath') because its source water is drawn from beneath the worship hall of Shibi Shrine (紫尾神社), it's known for a simple sulfur spring with a smooth, silky feel. Besides the indoor bath, it also has a footbath and a drinking-water fountain, along with a comfortable lounge next door. It's a perfect spot to rest your feet after a stroll through the cemetery grounds, letting you unwind in the peaceful atmosphere typical of Satsuma-cho.

Tips

You'll travel by car from the Kagoshima Shimazu Family Cemetery (Sokoji Park). Bringing a towel is convenient for the footbath. It's reassuring to check business hours in advance.
