About this spot

This shrine in the Noma area of Nakatane-cho, Tanegashima, has long been cherished by the local community. As a guardian shrine that has walked alongside the life of the village, it also draws worshippers during festival season who pray for the community's safety and a good harvest. The quiet grounds, surrounded by trees, are wrapped in a relaxed atmosphere quite different from the lively festival venue. Spend a quiet moment touching the island's history and faith.

Tips

You'll travel here by car from Chikura-no-Iwaya. Some parts of the shrine grounds are unpaved, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. Daytime, while it's still bright out, is the easiest time to visit.
