About this spot

This is the fireworks display of the Yokogawa Summer Festival, closing out summer in Yokogawa-cho, Kirishima City. About 1,000 fireworks are launched one after another into the night sky near Osumi-Yokogawa Station, and along with the bustle of the shopping street in front of the station, the whole area is wrapped in a summer festival mood. It's an evening filled with the warm, nostalgic atmosphere unique to a festival that has been carried on mainly by local residents.

The area around the venue gets crowded from the evening onward, so it's recommended to secure a spot early. Roads in the area get congested after the event ends, so consider staggering your departure time on the way home.
