A charming hot-spring town on the banks of the Asahi River, lined with inns and souvenir shops. You can enjoy the mellow atmosphere with hot-spring steam drifting through the air, and just strolling along the river brings a sense of calm. Many shops serve light snacks using local ingredients and sell souvenirs, making it perfect for a food-stall stroll. Walking along the clear waters of the Asahi River has a comfort unique to a mountain hot-spring resort.
Tips
About 10 minutes on foot from the Hanzaki Center. Even in summer, evenings can get cool in the mountains, so it's reassuring to bring something to layer on.
