Walk through the mountain castle ruins associated with Uesugi Kenshin and explore history
About this spot
Ruins of a mountain castle where the Sengoku warlord Uesugi Kenshin is said to have spent his youth. Though the buildings no longer remain, traces of ramparts and moats are still etched into the mountain, making it a particularly impressive spot for history enthusiasts. Walking up the mountain trail allows you to experience the topography of the former stronghold firsthand, and from near the summit you can overlook the mountain-ringed scenery of Tochio.
