This sandy beach faces the Sea of Japan and is close to the campus of Niigata University. In summer, it bustles with people enjoying swimming and beach volleyball, offering an open, seaside atmosphere. Just walking along the pine-lined coast lets you feel the salty sea breeze and wide sky typical of the Sea of Japan. The calm atmosphere of a university town also lingers nearby, letting you enjoy the distinctive air of the Uchino area.
Tips
The sunlight is strong in summer, so prepare a hat and sunscreen. The sand can get hot underfoot if you go barefoot, so sandals are reassuring. The parking lot can get crowded in summer.
