新潟市西区の新川漁港を舞台に開催される「日本海ゆうひ花火」です。打ち上げ数は公表されていませんが、日本海に夕日が沈んだあとの澄んだ夜空に花火が広がる、初秋ならではの落ち着いた雰囲気が魅力です。漁港という小規模な会場だからこそ、花火を間近に感じられるのもこの大会ならでは。湿地や海辺の自然を楽しんだ1日の締めくくりにふさわしい、静かで美しいフィナーレです。
