About this spot

This is the riverbed of the Nogawa (野川), a Class-1 river that rises from springs in Kokubunji City (国分寺市), gathers water from springs along the Kokubunji Escarpment (国分寺崖線), and joins the Tama River (多摩川) near Futako-Tamagawa (二子玉川). This stretch near Jindaiji Motomachi runs along the escarpment, with a promenade on both banks that lets you walk beside the waterside scenery. Watching the sky's colors shift moment by moment as the sun goes down, you can finish dinner here and spend some time before heading to tonight's fireworks venue.

Tips

From evening onward on the day of the fireworks festival, both the riverbed and the surrounding roads get very crowded. Get your food and drinks early (convenience stores near the venue sell out fast). Be sure to take your trash with you. It's a good idea to check restroom locations early.
