About this spot

This promenade runs along the Kumasaka River, which flows through the castle town of Daishoji, and is well loved by locals as a walking route. The breeze off the water is pleasant, and you can stroll leisurely while taking in the calm, castle-town streetscape. Getting a feel for the atmosphere of the town where tonight's fireworks will soon light up the sky, even in the daytime, is one of the pleasures of the trip. Benches are scattered along the way, so take your time and rest as you go.

Tips

About 5 minutes on foot from Zenshoji Temple. The promenade is paved, making it easy to walk with a stroller. The sun can be strong in summer, so don't forget a hat and something to drink. It's about a 10-minute walk to the next stop, Honmachi Street.

About 1 hour needed. Late afternoon, when the sunlight softens, is the most comfortable time to visit
