A shrine situated in Higashi-Uraga on the opposite shore reached by ferry, standing as a counterpart to Nishi Kano Shrine and cherished by the port town residents. Within the grounds, a well remains where Katsu Kaishu is said to have fasted before his Pacific crossing aboard the Kanrin Maru—a precious spot where you can touch the history of the late Edo period. The main shrine building is located partway up the back hillside, offering views overlooking the port from the higher vantage point. 幕末にペリー艦隊が来航したことでも知られる港町、浦賀の夜空を彩る花火大会です。渡し船が行き交う小さな港ならではの近さで、約500発の花火を間近に感じられます。規模は大きくありませんが、港町の歴史と結びついた地域密着の花火大会として、地元の人々に長く愛されてきました。1日かけて渡し船や古社を巡った締めくくりに、家族で港の夜空を見上げましょう。

Tips

荒天時は中止となる場合があるため、当日は横須賀市の公式発表で確認を。会場周辺の道は狭いため、徒歩や公共交通機関でのアクセスがおすすめです。終了後は駅までの道が混み合うため、しばらく余韻を楽しんでからの帰宅がスムーズです。

Tips

About a 5-minute walk from the ferry landing on the opposite shore. Entry is free. The path up the back hillside has many stone steps, so wear comfortable shoes. Uraga Park is about a 15-minute walk away.
