About this spot

This facility opens to the public, just as it was, the residence-and-studio where woodblock print artist Saito Kiyoshi spent more than ten years in his later life. You can see the room where many of his works were created, and from the 3rd-floor studio, take in the majestic flow of the Tadami River and the mountains of Oku-Aizu that the master repeatedly depicted in his art. What makes this museum unique is that you can trace both the place where the works were born and the very scenery that inspired them from the same viewpoint. Spend a quiet, rewarding afternoon here before the fireworks.

Tips

About a 10-minute walk from Enzo-ji Temple. Since the exhibits are rotated, checking the content on the official website beforehand will make your visit more enjoyable. It's about a 10-minute walk to the next stop, the Yanaizu Town Tourist Products Hall Seiryuen.

About 1 hour. Viewing during a relaxed afternoon time is recommended.
