The Yanaizu Onsen hot spring town, spread along the Tadami River, is lined with shops selling the local specialty, awa manju (あわまんじゅう), as well as local eateries. The area around the riverbank gets very crowded on the night of the fireworks festival, so it's reassuring to have a relaxed dinner during this time. Savor the chewy texture of awa manju while enjoying the laid-back atmosphere of a hot spring town.
Tips
About a 10-minute walk from the Yanaizu Town Tourist Products Hall Seiryuen. Shops around the venue get very crowded on the night of the event, so an early visit is recommended. It's about a 10-minute walk to the venue.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 45 minutes. Around 4:00 pm is still before the crowds build up, making it an easy time to visit.
