About this spot

This is the Reimatsuri Floating Lantern Fireworks Festival, held on the banks of the Tadami River in front of Joryu no Yado Kawachi, connected to the region's tradition of honoring ancestors. Countless fireworks color the night sky between the mountains, creating a fantastical scene as their light reflects on the calm surface of the Tadami River. The tradition of floating lanterns is also carried on here, giving the festival a solemn yet warm atmosphere that goes beyond a typical fireworks display. Look up at the night sky and the river together as a family to close out a day spent immersed in Yanaizu's history and art.

The event may be cancelled or postponed in case of severe weather, so check Yanaizu Town's official announcements on the day. Parking near the venue is limited, so an early arrival is recommended. Roads around the area get congested afterward, so lingering a while to enjoy the afterglow before heading home makes for a smoother trip.
