This small station is beloved as the gateway to the Shirakami Mountains (白神山地), a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. The area around the station is a quiet zone nestled between sea and mountains, where you can take a leisurely stroll while sensing the atmosphere of local life. There are no major tourist facilities, but it's a spot where you can enjoy the relaxed pace unique to a seaside town.

Tips

Just a few minutes' drive from Michi-no-Eki Hachimori. The summer sun is strong during the day, so a hat or parasol will help. It's about a 10-minute drive to the next stop, Iwadate Beach.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. A slightly quieter time in the afternoon is easiest for walking.
