Enjoy sweeping views of Genkai Nada from the elevated platform
About this spot
This is the ruins of a castle said to have been built in the Sengoku period (戦国時代), located on an elevated platform overlooking Katsumoto Port. With portions of stone walls remaining, it is a quiet historic site offering panoramic views of the blue sea of Genkai Nada and the port town of Katsumoto from the summit. If you take a look at Katsumoto Port (勝本港), where tonight's fireworks will light up the sky, from this elevated platform during the day, your sense of anticipation for the night viewing will grow. With pleasant sea breezes, this is one of the highlights of your island exploration.

Tips
Tips
About 5 minutes by car from Omdake Shrine There is a gentle uphill slope to the summit, so wear comfortable shoes and prepare for sun protection. Toward evening, the next destination, Katsumoto Port area (勝本港周辺), is about 5 minutes away by car.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour required. In the late afternoon with slanting light, the blue of the sea appears more vivid
