About this spot

This park spreads along the shore of Lake Suwa (諏訪湖), the largest lake in Nagano Prefecture. From the Okaya City side, you can look across the lake toward the townscapes of Suwa City (諏訪市) and Shimosuwa Town (下諏訪町), and beyond them the mountain ranges of Yatsugatake (八ヶ岳) and Kirigamine (霧ヶ峰). Even in summer, the breeze off the lake is pleasant, making it perfect for a relaxed family stroll. The multipurpose plaza where tonight's fireworks will launch is also located within this lakeside area.

Tips

About a 10-minute walk from the Irufu Dogakan (イルフ童画館). Sightseeing boats and rental boats are also available (operating schedules vary by season). It's about a 15-minute drive to the next stop, Takashima Castle (高島城).

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 30 minutes. The lake breeze in the afternoon is pleasant and ideal for strolling
