Held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 (postponed from the originally planned August 11 due to weather considerations), this is a summer tradition in Mutsu City, now in its 21st year. The fireworks are launched from the Ohira district (大平地区), with viewing at Ohira Quay (大平岸壁) in front of the Shimokita Kokusetsu Dome (下北克雪ドーム, also known as Mutsu Maeda Arena / むつマエダアリーナ). The appeal lies in the open view unique to a quay facing the sea, where you can enjoy the fireworks alongside the local community. It's a fitting summer night finale to a day spent fully exploring Shimokita.
