About this spot

This shrine, long revered as the ichinomiya (first-ranked shrine) of Totomi Province, is Mori Town's leading shrine. The approach path from the great torii gate to the main hall is lined with old-growth cedar trees, keeping the air cool even in summer. Known for its blessing of matchmaking, the grounds also feature a garden where seasonal flowers can be enjoyed throughout the year. In the morning before the fireworks festival, it's the perfect place to find a calm moment in the quiet grove.

Tips

About a 15-minute drive from central Mori Town. The approach path is a long gravel road, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. There's plenty of shade in summer, making it relatively comfortable, but be sure to stay hydrated.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. Fewer visitors in the morning make for a peaceful visit.
