This shrine, said to have been founded in the Nara period, is one of Iwata City's leading historic shrines. A three-story pagoda, a prefecturally designated tangible Cultural Property, rises within the grounds, and you can take your time visiting amid the quiet, green-surrounded atmosphere. It's a place where you can enjoy a calm change of pace from the bustle of the shopping complex. As a spot where you can sense the depth of Iwata's history, it's also perfect for a family stroll.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from LaLaport Iwata (ららぽーと磐田). The grounds are compact, making it an easy stop even for a short visit. There's plenty of shade in summer, so taking a break under the trees is also recommended.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. The three-story pagoda looks beautiful in the soft afternoon light.
