About this spot

This is a beach representative of Makinohara City, also known as a surfing spot. While it's bustling with surfers and swimmers in summer, in early-autumn afternoons it takes on a somewhat calmer atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely stroll along the water's edge. Taking in the wide-open view of Suruga Bay (駿河湾), it's a perfect spot to cool down before the fireworks festival.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from the Sagara History Museum (相良史料館). If walking barefoot, watch out for shells and pebbles. Sea winds can be strong some days, so it's reassuring to bring something to wear over your shoulders.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. In the later afternoon, the sunlight softens, making it easier to stroll.
