About this spot

This ravine park is developed along the Bessho River (別所川), which flows down the southwest slope of Mt. Daisen. The park has a water-play zone where steps lead down to the riverbed, letting visitors play in the clear stream. There's also a walking path lined with about 42,000 plants, where the contrast of lush greenery and clear water invites a cooling breeze. Tonight's fireworks venue is also nearby, so it's worth getting a feel for the area during the day.

Tips

Within walking distance of the area in front of Kishimoto Station. Some areas of the riverbed have unstable footing, so sneakers are recommended. Stay away from the water if it's running high, and check the day's weather as well.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Late afternoon, when the sunlight softens, is a comfortable time to visit
