Tarumizu Port Ferry Terminal (垂水港フェリーターミナル)

Flow of the course

About this spot

This is the departure point for the Kamoike-Tarumizu Ferry, which connects Kamoike Port in Kagoshima City with Tarumizu 25 times a day. The crossing takes about 40 minutes, and since the boat passes in front of Sakurajima, you can view the mountain from various angles and may even encounter wild dolphins living in Kinko Bay. The terminal has a spacious parking lot, an elevator, and a nursing room, making it easy to use for families. On the evening of the fireworks display, food stalls and vendors line the nearby former Tarumizu Port special venue. Pick up dinner there and wait for the show to begin while gazing at Sakurajima across the water.

Tips

Parking lots and nearby roads get crowded in the evening, so if driving, arrive early. It is a good idea to pick up drinks and snacks before reaching the venue. Please take your trash home with you.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 45 minutes. The silhouette of Sakurajima around sunset is a highlight.
